Navigation templates let admins customize the sidebar — which items appear, in what order, and how sections are labeled — without any code change. See also Navigation & roles.

How templates work

  • A template is an ordered tree of sections → items (sections can hold items and one level of subsections).
  • Templates are either global (Solya-curated personas like Buyer, Analyst, Operations — read-only) or organization templates (fully editable by your admins).
  • Each scope can set a default for admins and a default for regular users, so the right menu loads automatically by role.
  • You can fork a global template into your organization to start from a curated base.

Working with templates

1

Open navigation templates

Go to Settings → Navigation templates.
2

Create or fork

Create a new template, or fork a global persona template.
3

Build the tree

Add sections and items (from the canonical menu), reorder them, and rename labels in the full-screen editor.
4

Set defaults

Mark the admin and user defaults so they apply automatically on login.
Items still respect permissions: a menu entry is hidden if the user lacks access, even if the template includes it.
