# Markdown plans

> Plan price-reduction campaigns on slow-moving inventory.

A **markdown plan** is a price-reduction campaign. Planners apply discounts to
slow-moving inventory, with margin and calendar guards.

## Lifecycle

Draft → Validated → Closed
```

* **Draft** — build the campaign.
* **Validated** — items are ready.
* **Closed** — archived.

## Items

One line per **variant × size × shop**, each carrying a discount percentage. Items move
`To review` → `Ready for order`.

## Rules & approval

Markdown has **no approval gate**. Rules guard things like the minimum margin after
discount, whether the date falls inside an active **markdown calendar** window, and how
recently a variant was already marked down. See

## Where it comes from

Discount percentages can be recommended by Solya's decision layer (margin-floor aware)
and applied in bulk by workflows, or set manually.
